E Shram Portal Registration 2021: The Indian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, has introduced a new initiative aimed at establishing a comprehensive national database for unorganized sector workers. The Ministry of Labour and Employment has launched the E-Shram Portal to facilitate applications from individuals nationwide. Eligible candidates, aged between 16 to 59, have the opportunity to register for the E-Shramik Card. The official portal for E-Shram can be accessed at eshram.gov.in.

Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria can perform E Shram Card Self Registration provided that their Aadhaar card is linked to a mobile number. If their Aadhaar card is linked to a mobile number, they can conveniently apply for the E-Shram Card online from the comfort of their home using a mobile phone or laptop.

If an individual's Aadhaar is not linked with a mobile number, they can proceed with E Shramik Card registration by visiting the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) in their area.

The E-Shram Card is issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, exclusively for unorganized sector workers who have registered via the E-Shram Portal or through a CSC Digital Seva center. Any eligible individual can apply for the Shramik Card, provided they do not possess an account/ID with EPFO, ESIC, or NPS and do not currently receive benefits from a PF account or government-funded pension schemes.

Workers from various categories within the unorganized sectors are encouraged to enroll as this initiative aims to offer social security scheme benefits through a centralized database. Additionally, individuals covered by this scheme will receive insurance coverage of up to Rs. 2 lakhs under PMSBY.

Registration on the portal is open to self-employed individuals, home-based workers, and wage workers who are not beneficiaries of EPFO/ESIC or NPS (government-funded).

E Shram Registration Online:

• If an individual meets the aforementioned eligibility requirements, they can readily apply for an E Shram Card online without any external assistance if their Aadhaar is linked to a mobile number. Alternatively, if their Aadhaar card is not linked with a mobile number, they should visit a CSC center where registration is free of charge as center owners receive Rs. 20 per registration from the government.
• For self-registration, follow these steps:
• 1. Visit the E-Shram portal @eshram.gov.in
  2. Locate and select 'REGISTER on e-Shram' on the homepage
  3. You will be directed to a new page; enter your Aadhaar linked Mobile number and Captcha code
  4. Click 'Send OTP'
  5. Enter the OTP on the next page
  6. Click 'Submit'
  7. Fill out the form step by step in seven stages:
     • Personal Information
     • Address
     • Education Qualification
     • Occupation
     • Bank Details
     • Preview Self Declaration
     • UAN Card
  8. Your card will be displayed upon completion; click 'Download UAN Card'

Download and print your E-Shram Card upon completion of the process.
